If you would like to know how your child is performing relative to their peers and whether they have the potential to be successful at 11+ then get in touch about an academic assessment. Feedback will include detailed information about relative strengths and weaknesses, as well as recommended potential secondary schools.

One-to-one tuition offered in-person or online for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 English and A Level, depending on texts. Essay planning and support with re-drafting, for example of coursework, at GCSE and A Level also offered.

Interview Preparation

We have an excellent preparation package for 11 + interviews, which are increasingly important in the selection process. Your child will be prepared for individual and group interviews, and a mock interview can be arranged after the relevant preparation.

SEN Advice

With years of experience as an SEN teacher in secondary schools, more lately as a SENCO and with a Post-Graduate Diploma in Special and Inclusive Education, Jess can advise on a range of queries from parents, from appropriate school placements to applying for extra time or further diagnostic testing or referrals.

North London Tutoring

11+ Tuition

At North London Tutoring, we teach children in groups of 3 or 4, in our homes in Muswell Hill. We assess them in the Autumn Term of Year 4 with a view to starting teaching in January of Year 4. The children come for a 2-hour lesson each week (one hour with each of us, with a short break in between). Lessons run during term-time and in Year 5 we do ask students to be available for some extra lessons during the school holidays, especially at the end of August, just before the grammar school exams. We prepare for grammar and independent schools, covering all aspects of Maths, English and Reasoning. Please see FAQs for more information.

FAQs

We get consistently excellent results for our students. In recent years, the majority of our cohorts have had offers from Latymer grammar school. Other school destinations have been Henrietta Barnet, Highgate, NLCS, UCS, CLSB and CLSG and Belmont.

We have an unrivalled knowledge of the different school entrance exam systems and what the necessary standard is; our students are expertly prepared.

We assess in the Autumn term of Year 4 and begin teaching in January of Year 4.

We teach in groups of 3–4 students in Years 4 and 5.

A weekly 2-hour lesson costs £80.

In year 4 we start quite gently and this increases to up to 2 hours homework each week.
